We are pleased to announce that, following last year, Toyo Kanetsu will once again serve as a special sponsor of the "Toyo Kanetsu Cup: 2nd Kansai Women's Rising Stars Tournament," organized by the Japan Shogi Association (a Public Interest Incorporated Association).
This tournament is a single elimination competition featuring 16 participants, including young female professional players (ranked 1-dan and below) from the Kansai region, as well as female trainee members.
The semifinals and finals will be held in Arida City, where our Wakayama Plant is located, at Tachibanaya, a long-established traditional Japanese inn with over 123 years of history.
Through our sponsorship of this tournament, we aim to support the development of the next generation of talent in the shogi world, while also contributing to the local community and promoting the advancement of Japanese culture.
